Description

This is a double check assembly. Production began in 1990. The body is constructed of fabricated stainless steel. There is a single top mounted cover for access to internal parts. All versions utilize a modular check design. It is modular so that the springs are contained and seats are replaceable. The 3/4"-2" sizes have had two different versions produced. From 1990-1992 the internal check mechanisms were of modular construction made of a glass filled noryl. The checks were a cam operated check mechanism. The ball valve shut-offs were built into the body of the assembly in the older style. In 1992 a new version was produced where the ball valve shut-offs used are external ball valves that screw onto the body of the assembly. In 1992 the check module working mechanism design was changed to a pivot design. Production was stopped on the 3/4"-2" in 1997. The 2 1/2"-12" check mechanism is made of a glass filled noryl. The checks are modular in construction so that springs will be contained and seats are replaceable. The check design is a cam operated mechanism. In the 2 1/2"-6" sizes the check modules are not field repairable and the whole check module must be replaced for a proper repair. The 8"-10" check does have a rubber disc that is field replaceable. There is a 2000 SE design in the 2 1/2", 6", & 8" Sizes. The differences between the SS and SE model is that the SE utilizes internal parts one size smaller than the pipe size: (e.g. a 8" 2000 SE would contain 6" check modules, a 6" 2000 SE would contain 4" check modules). Be sure which version you have because parts will be different. The 2 1/2" SE was discontinued in 2003. The 6" and 8" SE models were discontinued in 2006.
